Taliesin West

There are places that stay with you long after you leave Taliesin West is one of those special places . It literally sings to my heart. Learned so much.
Some fun facts
Frank Lloyd Wright was 70 when he came out to build the winter home and design lab. It was in 1937.
Indoor outdoor living as an essential part of all the design including the viewpoints from inside with the lower chairs and built ins.
The windows had no glass originally.
In the beginning everyone camped and built the place by hand , no machinery.
They were required to have a tuxedo and proper dress for certain nights. Imagine camping and then getting into a tuxedo ! How delightful !
Music was a huge part as well.
Old school entertainment with people playing musical instruments

Some wonderful terms I heard last visit include :

Compressed space
Form and function

We love when clients know exactly what they want! She wanted purple. We matched this custom color by Farrow and Ball, in our baked on powder coat. The steel cabinets in purple mixed with the beautiful wood cabinets is spot on, in this stunning midcentury home in Long Beach, CA. We will say it again, we love our clients and their style!
