Our annual Estate Partners event was off the chart

Our annual Estate Partners event was off the charts in inspiration and creative talent.

Touring the @kellogg_doolittle_official house was a rite of passage. The astronomical thought of every square inch that took over 30 years to create is unfathomable and hard to describe in mere words.

Learning about and meeting the man, @johnpvugrin_works has me speechless. He single handedly designed, made himself and installed every single piece in this home. Flattened rocks were carefully selected to create pathways into the home, the individual grill cover plates were all different and unique. Even the lights! Which I thought were made out of paper Mache from the photos but turns out they were made of marble. We weren’t allowed to photograph inside but here are a couple pics from the web.

Marble doors and drawers. Gem stones that nod to the colors of the desert flowers outside. Not one can of paint was used anywhere. John fabricated the marble cabinet fronts and headboards and tables himself. I could go on and on. Mesmerizing.

Our group was fantastic and we all enjoyed feeding our brains with @daveed58 in the park. Hiked a bit. Laughed so much and just had a blast.

I have been so fortunate in the last few weeks to see and learn so much. Moving forward and leaning into it with my heart, keeps me young at heart.

There are places that stay with you long after you leave Taliesin West is one of those special places . It literally sings to my heart. Learned so much.
Some fun facts
Frank Lloyd Wright was 70 when he came out to build the winter home and design lab. It was in 1937.
Indoor outdoor living as an essential part of all the design including the viewpoints from inside with the lower chairs and built ins.
The windows had no glass originally.
In the beginning everyone camped and built the place by hand , no machinery.
They were required to have a tuxedo and proper dress for certain nights. Imagine camping and then getting into a tuxedo ! How delightful !
Music was a huge part as well.
Old school entertainment with people playing musical instruments

The steel cabinets in purple mixed with the beautiful wood cabinets is spot on, in this stunning midcentury home in Long Beach, CA. We will say it again, we love our clients and their style!
